Multi Award winning, hit ITV game show The 1% Club, hosted by Bafta nominated Lee Mack, produced by Magnum Media and shot at MediaCity’s dock10, returns for another brand new series, beginning early in the new year on ITV and ITVX.
The show sees 100 contestants begin every show – but to make it to the end and win the top prize of up to £100,000, contestants must correctly answer a question only 1% of the country would get right. Contestants of all ages and backgrounds can take part, because, unlike most quizzes, no swotting up on general knowledge is required to do well. Logic and common sense are the key to success.
The 1% Club is a global hit and the biggest original quiz show to come out of the UK in more than a decade. It regularly exceeds six million viewers an episode, and since it launched three years ago, it has been streamed over 40 million times and reached 43 million viewers.

Last summer, the show’s success saw it lay on the biggest prize fund in its history. The 1% Club Rollover shared the same game mechanics as the Saturday night version, but “bigger than ever.” The show expended to a week long-version, aired over five days, which means that if the prize pot wasn’t won on episode one, it would rollover to the next day’s show. If all the prizes rollover, that could have left a potential £500k up for grabs )spoiler alert – it didn’t happen).
The success of The 1% Club has seen the show win a host of awards including: National TV Awards for Best Quiz Show, a Broadcast Award for Best Entertainment Award and a Rose d’Or for best entertainment show. Lee was also nominated for BAFTA for Best Entertainment Performance.
The series is commissioned for ITV by Head of Factual Entertainment, Sue Murphy. The 1% Club was created by Dean Nabarro and Andy Auerbach and is a Magnum Media production for ITV.
