New Commercial Director at Encirc as Sales and Marketing boss retires

Encirc has appointed Jonathan Culley as its new Commercial Director.

Part of the Vidrala Group, Encirc is a specialist in glass container design, manufacturing, bottling and logistics solutions for the food and drink industry.

Culley joins the firm with more than 20 years experience across the drinks, packaging and FMCG sectors, including Rankin Brothers, Verallia and Bacardi.

“It was not an easy decision to leave Rankin Bros but the opportunity to join Encirc was incredibly compelling. Much of my career has been immersed in the glass industry,” he said.

“Encirc partners with some of the world’s leading brands and serves a diverse and highly competitive customer base. What particularly stood out to me was the company’s commitment to sustainability and its ambition to create more sustainable glass while building a resilient business that supports the communities in which it operates.”

His arrival comes as Rob Turvey plans his retirement after 14 years as Encirc’s Sales and Marketing Director.

Turvey leaves its Cheshire office at the end of this year and is working alongside Culley to smooth the transition.

“Glass remains the sustainable packaging material of choice and offers one of the strongest circular value propositions of any packaging format,” he continued.

“Backed by the strength and long-term vision of parent company Vidrala, Encirc has a clear roadmap for reducing carbon emissions and investing in sustainable growth. Together, these strengths place the business in a strong position to meet the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”

The company employs almost 2000 staff across 3 sites in Derrylin, Co Fermanagh; Elton, Cheshire and Bristol. It produces around 3 billion glass bottles and other containers annually and can fill up to 500 million litres of bulk shipped beverages every year.

“I’m delighted to welcome Jonathan to Encirc. He brings a wealth of commercial leadership experience, deep industry knowledge, and a strong track record of building lasting customer partnerships,” said Encirc’s Managing Director Sean Murphy.

“I would also like to recognise the outstanding contribution Rob Turvey has made to Encirc over many years. Rob’s leadership, dedication and commitment to our customers have helped shape the business we are today, and we look forward to working closely together over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.”
