There’s plenty of reasons why your company should enter the Prolific North Tech Awards this year.
Considered a staple of the tech industry calendar, this year’s awards will be hosted at Old Trafford Stadium on 9th November, where we continue to celebrate all the incredible achievements across the North’s tech sector.
As we prepare to shine a spotlight once again on the stand-out innovations, top companies and talented individuals across the region’s tech scene, two of our previous winners share why they decided to enter these awards.
Manchester-based PR and communications agency Refresh won Tech PR Agency of the Year in 2021 and made the shortlist for Tech PR Campaign of the Year in 2022.
Lucy Moore, associate director at Refresh, said: “I’m a big advocate of organisation’s entering awards, providing they’re credible and unbiased, which Prolific North’s always are.
“As a PR and communications agency, we regularly write award entries on behalf of clients so it’s just natural for us to practise what we preach and enter awards for ourselves, too.”
As Moore points to, the Prolific North Tech Awards shortlist and, ultimately, the winners are decided by an independent panel of industry experts in a rigorous two-step process. This year we have a leading panel of judges from the likes of Booking.com, Baltic Ventures, Manchester Angels and FatFace. You can find out more about the judging process and judges here.
By entering the awards, it can lead to greater exposure, attracting more clients and staff too.
“We actually had a couple of companies getting in touch and enquiring about us doing their PR off the back of it. Being shortlisted or winning an award is also great for brand awareness and credibility. What I would say is if you have been shortlisted, make the most of it – hammer it home across your socials, write a blog about it, share a case study of the project you have been shortlisted for – it’s a great opportunity for creating some powerful owned content!
“I’d advise any companies that have a strong story to tell to go for it and enter credible awards, but just remember to make the narrative engaging and personable (judges are often sifting through tens of submissions a day when shortlisting, so making it stand out is crucial) and demonstrate tangible return on investment – any outcomes related to true commercial growth, behaviour change and genuine customer outcomes makes for a strong entry.”
Northcoders, a Manchester-headquartered independent provider of training programmes for software coding and data engineering which has sites in Leeds, Newcastle and Birmingham, picked up the Rapid Growth Award in 2021.
Commenting on Northcoders’ win and why the team decided to enter the awards, director of marketing Steven Oakes said: “Winning the Rapid Growth award back in 2021 was a fantastic achievement for Northcoders. Entering awards can help in many ways; from helping to raise a company’s profile to driving credibility and helping to grow your network.”
