The bluedot Festival in 2019

Commercial property company Bruntwood is to provide wifi, co-working facilities and hot drinks to VIPs in the chill out zone of this year’s bluedot festival, the third time it has partnered with the award-winning festival at Cheshire’s iconic Jodrell Bank Observatory.

For this year’s festival, which runs from 21st-24th July, bluedot has unveiled a line up of music, arts, science and comedy including Bjork, Mogwai, Groove Armada, Professor Jim Al-Khalili, Stewart Lee and many more.

The partnership will see Bruntwood create a bespoke VIP area at the festival including a co-working space, ultrafast wifi, charging points, work stations and a chillout area with street food vendors, a bar and the ultimate festival luxury – premium toilets.

Ahead of the festival, Bruntwood and bluedot ran a series of talks called ‘bluedot in conversation’, hosted at Bruntwood Works and Bruntwood SciTech buildings in Manchester. With speakers including TV & radio presenter Tom Heap, women’s rights activist Helen Pankhurst, and senior leaders from the Royal Exchange Theatre and Band on the Wall, the discussions explored sustainability, fair society and cultural vibrancy.

Nicola McGee, Bruntwood marketing director, said: “This partnership with bluedot is extremely important to us, because by nurturing a cultural scene that encourages curious minds, it aligns with our purpose of supporting communities and helping our regions and cities to thrive. Bruntwood has a long-standing love of science, arts and music so we’re delighted to be partnering with bluedot again this year.”

Employing over 800 people, Bruntwood has over £1.4bn in assets and owns more than 100 properties across Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Birmingham. It provides everything from coworking space and meeting rooms to serviced, managed and leased offices.

Bruntwood SciTech, a 50:50 joint venture with Legal & General is the UK’s leading property portfolio dedicated exclusively to the growth of the science and technology sector. Valued at £600m with total assets of 2.4m sq ft and a development pipeline of 5m sq ft it is set to support the creation of over 50,000 jobs over the next decade.
