Double North East appointment at Maven

Maven Capital Partners has announced two new appointments to its local team in the North East, further strengthening its capability as it continues to support the growth ambitions of businesses across the region.

Catherine Earl joins as portfolio manager, based across the regional office network, and is responsible for working closely with the management teams of Maven’s portfolio companies to support growth, create long term value and achieve their strategic objectives. She brings more than a decade of board-level experience across private equity-backed and family-owned businesses, with a strong track record in M&A, business expansion and finance transformation, alongside overseeing financial reporting and operational performance.

Palmer also joins as portfolio manager, responsible for managing relationships across existing investments, working closely with management teams to support growth, creating long term value and helping businesses achieve their strategic objectives.

Prior to joining Maven, Graham was Group chief financial officer at Indigo Software, where he played a key role in the company’s successful sale to Aptean. With experience spanning corporate finance and board-level leadership, Ghe has advised and led entrepreneurial and private equity-backed businesses through fundraising, acquisitions, transformation programmes and successful shareholder exits.

The appointments further enhance Maven’s growing North East team, strengthening its ability to support portfolio companies through every stage of growth. Combined with Maven’s long-established regional presence and its role as fund manager for the British Business Bank’s Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II (NPIF II) and Business Durham’s Finance Durham Fund, the expansion reflects the firm’s continued commitment to backing ambitious businesses across the region.

Michael Vassallo, partner at Maven Capital Partners, said: “We are delighted to welcome Catherine and Graham to Maven. Their combined experience in strategic growth, acquisitions, transformation and shareholder value creation will further enhance the support available to our portfolio companies. These appointments represent an important investment in our portfolio team and reflect our commitment to helping ambitious businesses across the North East scale, innovate and realise their full potential.”
