Liverpool-based advertising agency Poke Marketing has partnered with Alder Hey Children’s Charity, representing one of Europe’s largest, busiest and most renowned children’s hospitals, to launch the Proud to make Liverpool Proud campaign.
The initiative celebrates Alder Hey’s world-class achievements through radio, digital, and social media channels under the message: “Proud to make Liverpool Proud.”
Caring for more than 450,000 children every year, Alder Hey has been at the heart of Liverpool since 1914. This campaign is all about reinforcing the passion the people of Liverpool have for this amazing hospital and aligning Alder Hey with other local assets that evoke the same pride.
As part of the campaign, Poke Marketing produced a thought-provoking 30-second radio advert, voiced by Jay Hynd of The Guide Liverpool, alongside a suite of digital creatives and social content to highlight Alder Hey’s pioneering role in children’s healthcare.

“Poke Marketing is more than proud to work alongside Alder Hey Children’s Hospital for this campaign,” said Nicola Docking, managing director and co-founder of Poke Marketing. “Having a world-renowned, pioneering hospital on your doorstep is something the city should always celebrate. In Liverpool, we’re known for football, music, and culture – but we should also remember and be very proud of the life-changing work happening every day at Alder Hey.”
The campaign shines a spotlight on Liverpool’s rich history of innovation, reminding audiences that beyond its cultural icons and recent footballing successes, Alder Hey Hospital was home to the first clinical trials of penicillin and the UK’s very first hospital neonatal unit. Plus, of course, The Beatles also make their usual contractually obliged appearance in the campaign creative.
Poke Marketing has a strong track record of delivering standout campaigns locally and across the UK, with home-grown clients including Liverpool Cathedral, Knowsley Safari Park and Professional Liverpool, while clients further afield include the English Football League, the National Football Museum in Manchester, and Gateway Angels.
Based in Liverpool’s business district, the agency is recognised for “bold ideas, strong collaborations, and results-driven creativity.”
