North West indie ticketing platform confirms sponsorship of long-running Manchester music convention

The UK’s leading independent ticketing platform, North West-based Skiddle, has announced it will be an official sponsor of the long-running Manchester music convention, Un-Convention 2025, which will take place at the city’s Band on the Wall venue on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st October.

As part of its sponsorship deal, Skiddle will deliver a suite of topical music industry-focused panels and events aimed at fostering conversation, connection, and practical support across the live sector.

Skiddle will host two key panel discussions at the October event:

  • Mental Health in Music (Friday 21st November, 9:45 am – 10:45 am) will examine trends impacting artist and industry wellbeing, from AI-driven support tools and advocacy campaigns to the implications of the new Mental Health Bill.
  • The Road to a Thriving Live Industry (Friday 21st November, 11:00 am – 12:00 noon) will spotlight the positive developments driving the sector forward, including new funding initiatives, government policy, and innovation within live promotion.

Confirmed speakers across both panels include leaders from Music Minds Matter, Live Music Industry Venues and Entertainment (LIVE), the Music Venue Trust (MVT), and the Association of Independent Promoters (AIP). Panels will also see participation from Skiddle’s own partner community, including the team behind Liverpool venue, The Jacaranda, as well as various active artists from within the industry.

To close out the conference, Skiddle will throw the official Un-Convention closing party – The Skiddle Social – running from 4pm – 7 pm on Friday at The New Cross, Manchester. With live music, merch giveaways, and a complimentary drink for those with a ticket, the event will bring together industry professionals in celebration of another successful edition of Un-Convention in 2025.

“Skiddle’s involvement at Un-Convention reflects our long-standing commitment to nurturing a thriving, equitable live music landscape,” said Duncan King, Skiddle’s head of festivals and partnerships, and panel moderator at the event. “We’re proud to offer sessions that spark important dialogue while creating meaningful moments for connection.”
