New agency ‘blown away’ after netting major Scottish food brand

Edinburgh creative agency Fantasticate has been appointed by Scottish Sea Farms to develop the salmon producer’s brand positioning.

The agency, which launched in April, has been tasked with refining the company’s brand strategy and helping communicate it to both internal and external audiences.

Scottish Sea Farms operates sites in Shetland, Orkney and across Scotland’s west coast. The business produces farmed salmon and is part of the UK’s largest food export sector.

Head of Communications and Marketing Karyn Lumsden said: “Scottish Sea Farms has been producing the UK’s number one food export for 50 years, providing nutritious, sustainable and delicious food to consumers across the world, as well as vital employment and investment in our country’s stunning coastal regions. I’m excited to work with the team at Fantasticate to define and grow the brand with the same care we put into everything else we do.”

Fantasticate was founded by former Union Creative directors Andy Tucker and Kirsty North. The agency says it operates a flexible “band model”, bringing together specialist talent depending on client requirements.

Its services include brand strategy and positioning, advertising campaigns, visual and verbal identity and social content.

Kirsty North, co-founder of Fantasticate, said: “Working with Karyn is a joy, and we were blown away by our Scottish Sea Farms site visits in Shetland. There’s a real camaraderie amongst the team, as well as impressive innovation. We’re enjoying getting stuck into a category that’s a huge Scottish success story, and fantasticating the Scottish Sea Farms brand.”

The agency’s work for Scottish Sea Farms is due to launch next month.
