Leeds Business School invites employers to lunch and learn about forthcoming Digital Marketer Degree Apprenticeship

Leeds Business School is inviting employers to a free lunch and workshop event on June 4 to learn about its Digital Marketer Degree Apprenticeship.

Designed to address the growing demand for digital expertise in the region, the business school will be offering the qualification from January 2025. To help employers in the region learn more about the degree apprenticeship, this event is taking place at the Knowledge Exchange Centre, Rose Bowl, Leeds.

The Digital Marker Degree Apprenticeship will give students the opportunity to use simulations and specialist software to practice problem solving strategies and take corrective action. Apprentices begin by working on theoretical campaigns and case studies of companies before moving on to real life client briefs and projects for their own organisation.

The Digital Marketer Degree Apprenticeship will equip learners with the skills to create, execute and measure a comprehensive digital marketing strategy. It will also instill a range of relevant behaviours to develop leaders who are skilled at managing, motivating, and delivering organisational goals.

Leeds Beckett is a Bronze Race Equality Charter holder and is eager to attract a diverse range of applicants, including neurodiverse individuals and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds. This is also reflected across the region, with Leeds making strides to close the digital skills gap. From inspiring girls into tech to creating a digital inclusion blueprint, other city-wide initiatives are aiming to inspire more young people to work in tech and digital, along with career changers and those looking to obtain a formal qualification to acknowledge their industry experience.

Helen Kennedy-Holleman, head of degree apprenticeships for Leeds Business School, said: “The digital world is changing at a rapid pace, and it can be difficult to keep up with the latest developments in areas such as AI, analytics, and SEO algorithms. That’s why Leeds Business School has worked alongside employers to develop the Digital Marketer Degree Apprenticeship to directly tackle the skills gap the region currently faces.

“I’m so pleased to welcome applications for the Digital Marketer Apprenticeship. This new initiative also complements the Business School’s existing range of apprenticeships which are hugely successful, with a 100% pass rate at end point assessment and 78% of apprentices achieving a Merit or Distinction.”

Gaynor Cross, course leader for the Digital Marketer Apprenticeship said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this apprenticeship which clearly supports the region’s ambition to equip companies with the digital understanding needed to thrive in the post digital era. We look forward to speaking with employers in the region at our upcoming lunch and workshop event to share more details.”
