Citypress wins brief for pet nutrition specialist

The UK’s largest employee-owned agency, Citypress, is the new consumer and trade public relations partner for Lancashire’s VetPlus after winning a competitive pitch.

The appointment will see Citypress work to raise the profile of the VetPlus brand and products among vets, as well as engage pet owners directly for the first time through creative consumer PR.

The agency will deliver an integrated media office, as well as strategic campaigns that raise awareness of how the brand’s high-quality nutraceutical products can help animals enjoy life to the fullest.

VetPlus is part of The Tangerine Group of companies. It is a pioneer in the development of nutraceuticals in the veterinary profession, with distributors in more than 30 countries.

The announcement marks another addition to Citypress’s experience supporting pet care brands, following its partnership with Pets at Home and its Vets for Pets and Pets Grooming brands.

Louise Mason, head of marketing at VetPlus, said: “We were very impressed with the Citypress team’s insights and experience of the pet care sector, as well as their creative ideas to enhance the VetPlus brand with both vets and pet owners.

“We’ve seen the great work they have done with other brands in the sector and we’re looking forward to working together to help improve the health and wellbeing of even more pets across the globe.”

Jo Tarkowski, associate director at Citypress, added: “VetPlus is a family-owned business that has been a pioneering force in the development of veterinary nutraceutical products for nearly 30 years, and its authority in the field is unrivalled.

“Our longstanding experience in the pet care sector – and the fact that so many of us are pet owners ourselves – means we understand the deep bond between people and their pets.

“We’re excited to put our plans into action and share the VetPlus story with vets and pet owners.”

Citypress also works with clients including Aldi, British Land, Coca Cola Europacific Partners, Lloyds Banking Group and Primark.
