Shelter turns to North West agency for biggest campaign of the year

Housing and homelessness charity, Shelter, has appointed Meanwhile for its annual Winter Appeal following a pitch process.

By far the charity’s biggest campaign of the year, the MediaCity agency will support on creative strategy and delivery.

“Shelter’s Winter Appeal is the moment each year where we pull together to shine a spotlight on the record number of children growing up without a home,” explained Lizzy Brabner, Head of Marketing at Shelter.

“This time, we’ve set out to land that message with an even bigger audience, developing a creative concept that we think will strike a chord and putting a greater focus on earned media. We were extremely impressed with the way Meanwhile combined creativity with a clear strategic vision. We’re excited to see what we can achieve together, raising vital funds to help us in the fight to end homelessness.”

Meanwhile has previously worked with charities including Lifeshare, creating ‘the Autumn/Winter Collection’ campaign with Rankin, as well as with Parkrun and Chester Zoo.

“Across England, thousands of children are stuck homeless in temporary accommodation, often for months or even years on end,”added James Cross, Chief Creative Officer and Founder at Meanwhile.

“Having the opportunity to work with Shelter to draw attention to this issue, and raise awareness about the record number of children without a home, is a huge privilege. Everyone should have the right to a safe and secure home, and together with Shelter, we look forward to spreading that message far and wide.”
