Channel 4 opens new Manchester ‘hub’ office for partners

Channel 4 today has opened of a new office in Manchester city centre creating a UK regional hub for the broadcaster’s commercial, creative and industry partners.

The channel’s growing regional sales team in Manchester, headed up by Ewan Douglas, form the core of the new premises – and an open hub space with up to 15 hot desks and meeting rooms for up to 60 people will be available to Channel 4’s Growth Fund indies and its production, creative, commercial and third party sales partners, as well as the Channel 4 Board, Commissioning, Creative Diversity and All 4 Games teams.

The premises are located at 82 King Street in Manchester. Channel 4 has four regional offices including Glasgow where the Creative Diversity and All 4 Games teams are based, and two further Channel 4 Sales offices in Belfast and Dublin.

Speaking ahead of the official opening of the office, David Abraham, chief executive, said: “Channel 4 plays a significant role in stimulating the creative economy in the UK nations and regions. Over half of our original commissions were from outside of London last year and the regional sales team significantly contribute to our overall sales house revenues.

“The new Manchester hub demonstrates Channel 4’s continued commitment to developing even stronger relationships with regional creative and media companies, and supporting smaller businesses as they grow.”

The Manchester office was designed by Minifie Architects who have created unique branding to reflect the Channel 4 Sales team’s creative and diverse offer to the advertising market outside of London.

Channel 4 sales in Manchester are responsible for UK agency and client relationships outside of the South East of England. They work with these clients to deliver activity across the full range of Channel 4 commercial opportunities covering, spot, spon, digital, shorts, Product Placement and Advertiser Funded Programming.
