Animation studio Mighty Giant appoints former Sharp Project business development chief

Mighty Giant, a Manchester based animation and motion design studio whose clients include ITV, the BBC and Chester Zoo, has appointed former Sharp Project commercial chief Dunstan Carter as business development and partnerships manager.

With over fifteen years’ experience in business development, sales, and account management across the creative and digital sectors, Carter brings a wealth of expertise to his new role at Mighty Giant. In his previous role as business development manager with MCDA at The Sharp Project, he headed up sales for around five years, and demonstrated his ability to cultivate thriving business ecosystems while aiding collaborations amongst tenants and local businesses, and fostering a vibrant community on-site.

Mighty Giant has evolved and grown over the last two years, said founder and creative director Jonathan Ashworth: “Not only have we changed the way we work, but also the type of clients we work with. Last year saw us relaunch with a new brand, and this seemed the ideal time to bring in Dunstan’s expertise to help with our growth plans,” he explained.

As business development and partnerships manager, Carter will spearhead new business initiatives and cultivate strategic partnerships with brands, agencies, and businesses seeking innovative and unique animated content.

Carter said: “I’m really excited to be joining Mighty Giant and I’m looking forward to helping bring onboard some new projects for the team to work on. I’m an illustrator in my spare time, and a huge animation fan, and the creative versatility and variety of Mighty Giant’s work makes my new role all that more exciting.”

Carter’s employment history also includes commercial and business roles at Prolific North Live, Modern English Digital and Newsco Insider, as well as taking commissions for his own illustration agency, Dunstan Doodles.
