Manchester-based retailer N Brown has appointed media agency the7Stars to handle its UK media planning and buying, according to a report by Campaign.

Following a competitive pitch, the agency beat agencies Wavemaker and PHD to secure the account in a process run by marketing consultancy Oystercatchers.

The agency currently working on the retailer’s media planning and buying is Carat Manchester, a media planning and buying specialist part of the Dentsu Aegis Network, but did not take part in the review.

The7Stars will work with the brand on attracting new customers and developing its digital offering and provide media planning across its five core brands, which include Simply Be, JD Williams, Ambrose Wilson, Jacamo and Home Essentials.

N Brown's chief brand officer Kenyatte Nelson said: “The7stars demonstrated a real knowledge and passion for our business and presented a clear process and methodology for driving innovation and business transformation.”

“Their channel and tech-neutral approach really showed the value of going for a creative indie and clearly set them apart from the other agencies.”
