All is CALM as North West agencies team up for industrial sector mental health campaign

Stockport-based Future and Warrington consultancy Really Good Things have teamed up to create a campaign to raise awareness and provide support for mental health in the industrial sector.

The campaign, commissioned by international industrial leaders Altrad, is being supported by the suicide prevention charity CALM, aka the Campaign Against Living Miserably.

Design agency Future and Really Good Things, a specialist impact and communications consultancy, have been working in partnership with Altrad for over five years to put the company’s positive social and environmental impact at the heart of their culture and communications. This latest, vital campaign is the next step is the next step in that process.

Nick Yates, managing director of Future said: “Partnering with Altrad and CALM on this project is something we’re really proud of. From concept to completion, our vision was to create a film that’s both thought-provoking and relatable. The hi-vis vest, synonymous with the industrial sector, provided the perfect opportunity to symbolise people’s hidden struggles with mental health and reinforce the importance of checking in with colleagues to start much needed conversations.”

The partnership was launched last month to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Day, with a film that depicts an Altrad colleague seeking support for his mental health.

Sarah Klaveness, director of Really Good Things said: “We’re specialists in creating ambitious partnerships between companies and charities, and when Altrad told us they want to make a meaningful difference to changing the industry statistics around mental health and suicide, we set out building links with leading charities capable of matching our client’s ambition. CALM were the obvious choice, and I’m personally very proud to have brought these two organisations together to create such a significant new partnership.”

The film will be supported with a series of internal staff engagement activities to embed the campaign, and the partnership with CALM, across Altrad’s extensive UK team. CALM is a suicide prevention charity fighting to reduce the devastating impact of suicide. CALM’s helpline and live chat are open from 5pm to midnight every day. 365 days a year. #AgainstLivingMiserably
