Leeds agency joins global indie PR partnership Worldcom

Leeds-based integrated PR agency Prohibition has been voted into The Worldcom Public Relations Group, the leading global partnership of independent public relations firms.

The move follows a rigorous multi-stage tendering and vetting process, and supports Prohibition’s ambitions to leverage EMEA growth opportunities, while providing its clients global best practices and innovation.

Worldcom is the world’s leading partnership of independently owned public relations firms, with 110 offices employing more than 2,000 professionals across 45 countries and six continents. In total, Worldcom partners reported combined revenues of $350 million last year from around 4,500 clients.

Established in 1988, the group was formed so that the strongest, most capable independent firms could deliver impact and sustained value through the intelligent use of communications – wherever in the world a client needs support.

Will Ockenden, Prohibition’s co-owner and director said: “We are constantly looking to grow and evolve as an agency, and Worldcom presented an exciting opportunity to connect with some of the best independent agencies in the world, and in doing so, share innovation, and learn best practices outside of our immediate market.

“The partnership also gives us the opportunity to better service our existing client base by having a tried and tested global referral network to support their expansion ambitions. We’re delighted Worldcom recognised our excellence as an agency and are very much looking forward to becoming a member and driving the next phase of our growth.”

Caroline Prince, Worldcom’s EMEA Region Chair adds: “We are excited to add Prohibition PR to the Worldcom Partnership, expanding our reach and capabilities across the UK while deepening our experience in EMEA and globally. Prohibition brings a progressive mindset to our partnership, not only in the delivery of best-in-class public relations services but in harnessing the latest technologies that support effective communications.”

Founded in 2012, Prohibition has developed a reputation as one of the most respected indie agencies outside of London. Its 30-strong team delivers integrated campaigns for leading brands across food and drink, higher education, property, lifestyle, B2B and more.
