Proudly Northern pasta brand sees sales soar 675% following Dragons’ Den success

Since appearing on BBC One’s Dragons’Den just last week (17th September, 2026), where founders Imogen Royall and Matt Kenyon successfully secured a joint offer of £50,000 for 10% of the business from Dragons Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden, Northern Pasta Co has seen an average daily sales rise of 675.14%.

The founders say that this surge demonstrates the nation’s appetite for home-grown, regeneratively farmed pasta.

The spike comes soon after the British spelt pasta brand opened a new 12,000 sq ft production facility in Carnforth, Lancashire, engineered to scale production tenfold as the business targets £1 million in turnover this year. This timing means Northern Pasta Co. can meet the new wave of demand head-on rather than be caught out by it.

The business is scaling sixfold from four years ago’s market-stall production, to 13.5 tonnes of pasta a week, with the new site designed to reach tenfold capacity and the company on track to break £1 million turnover in 2026

The timing could not be better: the company has grown its factory team from four to ten employees over the past year and made two senior hires: Grace Chau as head of marketing and Matt Young as head of sales. Northern Pasta Co. now has the infrastructure and team in place to “convert new customer interest into long-term demand, rather than a short-lived spike.”

Co-founder Royall said: “We’ve always believed there’s real appetite out there for pasta made properly, from British-grown grain, and the response since Dragon’s Den has proven it. Seeing average daily sales jump by 675% is genuinely overwhelming, and it couldn’t have come at a better time: we’ve just opened a factory built for exactly this kind of growth, so we’re ready to meet it.”

Founded in 2022 by husband-and-wife team Royall and Kenyon, Northern Pasta Co is a British spelt pasta brand built on regenerative farming. Available nationwide at Waitrose and in independent delis, the Carnforth, Lancashire-based brand crafts its pasta using traditional slow bronze extrusion and drying methods.
