Revealed: Prolific North’s 2025 Tech Companies to Watch – new scale-up edition

Today, Prolific North unveils its Tech Companies to Watch: New Scale-up Edition for 2025 – celebrating the most dynamic, ambitious and high-growth tech businesses emerging across the North right now.

Sponsored by Beyond Echo PR, the exclusive list was revealed live on stage at the Digital Leaders Summit – part of Prolific North’s Digital City Festival 2025 – at Bruntwood SciTech’s No. 1 Circle Square in Manchester yesterday afternoon. Attendees gathered for a first look at the list and heard from some of the brightest minds in the sector on what’s next for Northern tech.

More than 200 of the region’s most influential leaders, founders, investors and digital trailblazers were in attendance, coming together under one shared message: The North is rising – and it’s charting its course for tech dominance.

The 2025 scale-up list was created through a combination of industry submissions and extensive editorial research. It shines a light on companies that are not just building big ideas, but turning them into impact – with real-world growth, funding success, and market traction.

The list is unranked and considers a range of criteria, including the ingenuity of the business model, strength of execution, and evidence of scale and ambition. It spans companies from across the North of England and Scotland, showcasing the depth and diversity of the region’s thriving tech ecosystem.

HyperFinity (Leeds)
Founded in 2019, HyperFinity is a decision intelligence company helping major retailers like Costa Coffee and Morrisons make smarter, data-driven decisions across pricing, marketing, and customer loyalty. Blending AI-powered software with expert consultancy, the Leeds-based firm has grown massively in just six years and recently secured a fresh investment to accelerate product development and scale its team.

Summize (Manchester)
Summize is a fast-growing contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform reimagining how legal teams and businesses collaborate on contracts. Headquartered in Manchester with a U.S. base in Boston, the company integrates AI-driven contract tools into everyday platforms like Teams, Outlook, and Salesforce. With clients such as Revolut and Simon & Schuster, Summize is now one of the UK’s fastest-growing tech firms.

Kaboodle (Manchester)
Manchester-based Kaboodle provides ticketing, accommodation, and travel solutions for live events and festivals. Since launching in 2017, it has grown massively. Kaboodle’s client base has grown steadily since launching with just one client. By 2021, they were working with 34 clients, increasing to 39 in 2022, 48 in 2023 and 68 in 2024. In the first three months of 2025 they’ve already onboarded 10 new clients. This expansion reflects not only the scalability of the platform but also the growing demand from event organisers for flexible, data-driven ticketing solutions that go beyond the basics.

IntelliAM PLC (Sheffield)
Backed by the engineering expertise of 53 Degrees North, IntelliAM is using machine learning to revolutionise industrial asset management. Since launching in 2023, it has floated on the Aquis Stock Exchange, grown to over 150 clients including half of the world’s top 12 FMCG firms, and secured a landmark AI integration agreement with SKF. Its platform turns billions of previously inaccessible machine data points into real-time, actionable insights – transforming the factory floor and boosting productivity.

Lunio (Manchester)

Founded in 2018, Lunio helps marketers eliminate invalid traffic and boost ad spend efficiency. It is fast becoming a key MarTech player. Its platform tackles the multi-billion-pound ad fraud problem by removing fake clicks and bots in real time. Lunio is targeting global growth and evolving into the go-to partner for performance marketers.

Fuuse (Lancaster)
EV charge point platform Fuuse has scaled rapidly and now serves over 750 clients – including SSE, British Airways and Siemens. Fuuse handles millions in payments and enough electricity to power the UK for an hour. Based in the North and primed for international expansion, Fuuse is leading the charge in EV infrastructure software.

Urban Chain (Manchester)

UrbanChain, a female-founded energy tech company based in Manchester, believes it has found the key to reforming a “broken” energy market in the UK. The company launched a new sales division in 2025 to support its next phase of UK growth after a period of significant commercial expansion. The company is currently at 75 staff and aims to double to 150 over the next 12–18 months. It is presently undergoing a Series B fundraise and holds global growth ambitions. UrbanChain’s leadership describes the business as having “unlimited growth potential,” with aspirations to reach unicorn status and significantly scale revenues and impact.

Communicate (Teesside)
Communicate is a Teesside-based provider of cybersecurity and IT network solutions, pursuing rapid growth through acquisition. In 2024, it acquired Blaze Networks, a managed service provider with advanced networking and security expertise.

Evergreen Life (Manchester)
Evergreen Life started as a personal health record app and has evolved into a nationwide digital health platform, integrating with both primary and secondary care while enabling research access for healthcare and life sciences. Its growth has been driven by several acquisitions. The company is a certified B Corp and topped the 2024 Sunday Times 100 Tech list, highlighting its rapid sales expansion. Employee numbers rose tenfold in three years, and the business expects to create 100 new roles over the next year.

StreetGroup (Manchester)
Street Group is a Manchester-based proptech firm developing software solutions for estate agents. Its flagship products, help agencies attract clients, manage leads, and deliver top-tier service. Founded by siblings Tom and Heather Staff, the company scaled to nearly 150 staff using internal resources before raising external capital. The company has received several awards, including Best Overall Supplier at the 2024 EA Masters and Gold Supplier of the Year at the ESTAs. With over 4,000 estate agency clients, Street Group plans to further harness AI to modernise the sector.
