Sheffield’s Über has acquired fellow South Yorkshire agency Public Image.

The move will see Doncaster-based Public Image’s eight-strong staff – including managing director Paul Green – relocate to the Sheffield agency’s base in Park Hill.

Over the years, both agencies have worked with major national brands, including DFS, Harveys, Benson for Beds and Netto, often at the same time.

The acquisition broadens Über’s capabilities, particularly in the B2B space, and follows a rebrand earlier this year. Its billings will increase by 30-40%.

Greg Clark, managing director at Über, said: “We are very excited to welcome Public Image into the Über family. We have been respectful rivals for many years, and have both been top of the regional agency list for the past 14 years, competing for – and often working on – the same clients.

“The agency’s strong retail experience mirrors our own and helps us offer our clients an unparalleled level of experience outside the network agencies. In addition to this synergy, Public’s portfolio of work will significantly boost our B2B credentials, and the move will help us solidify our ‘best outside of London’ stance.”

Paul Green, managing director at Public Image, added: “This is a thrilling time for everyone. Über is extremely well respected, and has a well-deserved reputation for delivering outstanding work, not just regionally but nationally, and our skill sets complement each other perfectly.”
