Hire coordinator Andy Gledhill has joined the Sterling Events Leeds team from the firm’s Manchester headquarters, adding experience and capacity to support regional equipment hire requirements, just as the event specialist celebrates the first birthday of the Leeds Hub.
Opened in 2025 as part of Sterling’s wider UK growth strategy, the Leeds Hub was established to give the company a dedicated presence in the region, strengthening its ability to support clients, venues and agencies locally, and expand Sterling’s trade hire capability across Yorkshire.
Twelve months on, the Leeds Hub has become an established part of Sterling’s operation, supporting over 250 events delivered through Yorkshire alone. More than 370 tonnes of equipment have been delivered through the operation during its first year, and the Leeds Hub has become a key driver of commercial growth for Sterling.
Led by general manager Jordan Hall, supported by senior account manager Ann Seddon, the team has continued to expand its client base, secure new relationships and develop existing accounts into long-term partnerships.
Sterling’s expanding network of venue partnerships has supported this growth, with sixteen new venue partners onboarded during the first year. The local presence has also enabled the team to collaborate more closely with clients throughout the lifecycle of their events, building stronger relationships and providing faster, more accessible support from a team based locally.
Trade Hire has remained another important area of growth, with the Leeds Hub providing production companies and industry partners with convenient regional access to Sterling’s extensive equipment inventory and technical expertise.
The growth and investment in Leeds has also extended beyond the facility itself, with Sterling continuing to develop the regional team as demand grows, with the transpennine transfer the latest new face.
Alongside this, the Leeds Hub is supported by a dedicated technical team of technicians, with continued opportunities for progression reflecting Sterling’s commitment to developing its people and building technical expertise across the region.
The Leeds Hub forms part of Sterling’s wider UK infrastructure, working alongside its Manchester headquarters and London operation. Together the three locations provide clients with access to Sterling’s people, equipment and expertise, wherever their event may take place, while maintaining the benefit of regional teams and support.
Richard Bowden, managing director at Sterling Event Group, said: “Opening a new location always brings a challenge: How do you make sure clients receive the same standard of service they’d expect from Sterling anywhere else? From day one, our priority in Leeds was to protect the quality and reliability we’re known for, rather than grow for the sake of it. Jordan, Ann and the team have done exactly that.
“We’ve built a highly capable regional team, supported by the wider business, and they’ve proven that they can deliver the same technical excellence and dependable service our clients rely on. I’m incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved in their first year, and we’re looking forward to continuing to invest in the team and the region as Leeds enters its second year.”
