Returning angels – Lifted Women Angels Conference sets January 2026 Leeds comeback

The Lifted Women Angels Conference is returning, taking place on Friday 30 January 2026 at Aspire, Leeds.

Supported by Innovate UK, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, RBC Brewin Dolphin, the British Business Bank, Gordons LLP and CO4CH, the conference celebrates and empowers women in early-stage investing while reinforcing the North’s growing position as a hub for women-led investment and innovation.

Following the success of its sold-out 2025 debut, the conference expands into a larger, more accessible city-centre venue, promising deeper connections, richer discussions and greater impact across the UK’s early-stage investment ecosystem.

Not just for experienced investors, this event aims to nurture the next generation of women angels and empower those curious about investing to take action. The Conference provides a powerful platform to learn, connect and become part of a community that’s driving investment in female-led businesses.

“Increasing the capacity of women in angel investing is key to unlocking more capital for female founders,” said Jordan Dargue, co-founder of Lifted Ventures. “By supporting, educating and empowering potential women investors, we can build a more inclusive and dynamic investment landscape that benefits everyone.”

“Our goal is to demystify angel investing and show women that they already have what it takes to become successful investors,” added Helen Oldham, co-founder of Lifted Ventures. “The Lifted Women Angels Conference is a catalyst and a space where curiosity turns into confidence and real impact.”

The two co-founders, who recently unveiled the Lifted Ventures 5-Point Manifesto (2025-2027), which includes the goal to “activate 75 new women angel investors by lowering barriers and normalising investing as a wealth-building strategy,” are driving a movement to empower more women to take an active role in early-stage investing.

Through its Women Angels Network, Lifted Ventures continues to channel early-stage investment into female-led regional ventures, breaking barriers to capital and driving economic growth across the UK’s regions.

According to recent Invest in Women Code data, angel networks with over 15% female investors directed 57% of their investments toward female-founded or mixed-gender teams, highlighting the powerful role women play in reshaping the investment landscape.
