Oasis announce line up changes on stage in Seoul – but it’s not what you might expect

Oasis kicked off their Live ‘25 shows in South Korea this week with a change in line up, but for once it’s not down to the Gallagher brothers’ squabbling that surprise changes have taken place.

Earlier this month, rhythm guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs announced that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and may have to miss a number of the band’s shows in order to undergo treatment.

Following some speculation as to who would fill in for founder member Arthurs during his absence, it was revealed during the Seoul gig at Goyang Stadium last night (21 October) that Mike Moore would be filling in.

Moore has previously played with Liam Gallagher’s live band, so should be more than familiar with plenty of the band’s material, and also featured on the star’s three solo albums.

According to The Mirror, Moore will assume the role of rhythm guitarist for the Asian and Australian dates in Bonehead’s stead, with Bonehead expected to return for Oasis’ South American shows in Argentina, Chile, and Brazil next month after a “planned break” to recover from the next phase of treatment.

Though the ill guitarist has said that he’s sad to be missing the Asian and Australian shows, he is “feeling good and will be back ready to go in time for South America.” Oasis only have a handful more tour dates planned for this year, although Liam Gallagher, has hinted a lot more in store for 2026.

The band honoured Bonehead with a cardboard cut-out at last night’s gig alongside their usual cut-out of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

Fan footage from Seoul showed Noel introducing the band, as he usually does for each show, during which he welcomed Moore with the cut-out of Arthurs on full display.

The absent guitarist appeared pleased with the tribute, as he shared a photo to his Instagram page along with the caption: “Play it loud Amigos.”

This year’s Oasis reunion after 15 years has proved one of the cultural, and economic, events of the century so far, with ecommerce, breweries and ticketing platforms all counting the spoils as the Manchester band kicked off their reunion in Cardiff on July 4 ahead of five nights in their hometown’s Heaton Park, a full UK tour, and now the world.
