MediaCity Post – formerly known as dock10 – has continued its longstanding partnership with the award-winning Quay Street Productions by completing full picture post production on their forthcoming ITV drama The Blame.
Starring Michelle Keegan as DI Emma Crane and Douglas Booth as DI Tom Radley, The Blame follows two detectives in the fictional town of Wakestead, uncovering a complex web of secrets, lies and systemic corruption as a murder investigation unfolds.
The project marks another chapter in MediaCity Post’s longstanding relationship with executive producers Nicola Shindler, Richard Fee and the Quay Street Productions (part of ITV Studios) team. Previous collaborations include Netflix global hit Fool Me Once, Netflix’s worldwide number one series of 2024, as well as Missing You, Run Away, After the Flood and Tip Toe.

For The Blame, MediaCity Post delivered end-to-end post production services including rushes ingest, offline editing, online editing, colour grading, quality control and final delivery. With principal photography taking place largely in and around London, the team designed a bespoke remote workflow that enabled production to transfer camera media securely without the need for daily physical transport – a set-up that is achievable with the trusted high strength connection capabilities on-site at MediaCity Post.
Using a point-to-point Signiant synchronisation workflow, MediaCity Post supplied hardware and software licences for an on-location production office, allowing camera media to be securely uploaded each day. The Manchester-based team then remotely managed backup and ingest overnight, ensuring editors had access to the previous day’s rushes every morning while providing production with a secure, efficient alternative to traditional courier workflows.
The production also combined remote and facility-based editing, with MediaCity Post’s secure remote editing infrastructure enabling editors to work seamlessly from multiple locations while remaining connected to the facility’s central systems.
Senior colourist Jamie Parry led grading across all six episodes, completing a 25-day UHD HDR grade on FilmLight Baselight within an ACES colour-managed workflow. Delivering HDR first enabled the creation of premium master files before Dolby Vision tools were used to generate carefully trimmed SDR versions for domestic broadcast, while UHD HDR and SDR masters were prepared for international distribution through Fifth Season.
The production required close collaboration between grading, online and VFX teams, particularly as visual effects continued to evolve throughout post production. MediaCity Post’s integrated workflows enabled complex VFX revisions, HDR-specific finishing and multiple delivery versions to be managed efficiently while maintaining creative continuity across the series.
Senior editor Sam Butler completed the online edit using Avid Symphony and DaVinci Resolve, working in UHD HDR throughout the finishing process. Alongside traditional online work, the team carried out extensive paint-outs, reflection removal, split screens, speed ramps with more complex visual effects completed using Resolve’s Fusion toolset.
The entire post production process was overseen by senior post producer Kellie Sanders and post producer Liz Hird. Sanders, a longstanding collaborator with Quay Street Productions, once again led delivery across the project, ensuring close coordination between production, editorial, colour, VFX and final delivery teams from start to finish.
The Blame further reinforces MediaCity Post’s reputation as one of the UK’s leading high-end drama post-production facilities, combining technical innovation with long-term creative partnerships to support some of British television’s highest-profile scripted productions.
