‘Next generation letting agent’ to create 50 new jobs in Manchester

‘Next generation letting agent’ accommodation.co.uk plans to create 50 jobs over the next three years after opening its new head office in Manchester’s Spinningfields.

The jobs will be mainly in property management and marketing and be based in Manchester.

Aaron Short, co-founder of the agency, said: “Manchester is a hub of creativity and innovation, so it makes sense that we continue to build and develop our business in such a vibrant, future-thinking city. There’s so much great talent and energy to help us improve the rental experience.

“We’ve opened one office in the centre of Manchester to start with, and we project that more than 50 jobs will be created as we grow over the coming years, including roles in marketing and property management.”

Accommodation.co.uk’s technology streamlines the rental process by automating property letting and management tasks. A central property management team will be based at the company’s Manchester central support centre that will support its network of Lettings Consultants.

The agency was founded by Short, 24, and Matthew Meekins, 23, when they were studying at the University of Lincoln, with the backing of entrepreneur and property investor John Lomas, 58.

Short added: “I used a number of different letting agents during university and quickly realised that other students who rented were having just as poor an experience as I was having.

“There was a lack of transparency throughout and ultimately a poor experience, which is especially apparent in today’s world where people expect a digital solution similar to Uber and Airbnb.

“We think our technology is a catalyst for improving the customer journey, and the amazing people we have on the ground will be empowered by our streamlined processes to offer the best service for landlords and tenants.”
