Matmi’s learning division, Matmi Educate, has produced a “revolutionary digital platform” which aims to turn children’s education on its head.
Lucia’s World is described by the Macclesfield firm as being “rather like” the 80’s TV show, Why Don’t You?, in that its main purpose is to encourage children and their parents to use technology in a mindful way, rather than getting consumed by it.
It is delivered via an App, but Managing Director, Jeff Coghlan explained that “ground breaking multichannel and multi-discipline content makes it difficult to categorise.”
“Technology should enhance our lives, not control them. Across the platform, we continuously inspire children to explore the world around them through completing fun and educational activities,” he said.
Lucia’s World has been developed over 18 months by Matmi Educate, alongside children’s author and entertainer, Lucia Davies.
Coming complete with a “screen time alarm” the platform encourages children to use their creativity and develop language skills, with lessons on mindfulness and wellbeing. This is done via original video, games, books, songs, stories and illustrations.
