BBC slam dunks NBA live basketball rights

NBA Basketball is coming live to the BBC for the remainder of the 2022-23 season, beginning with The NBA Paris Game 2023 on Thursday 19th January at 8pm.

The game, which will feature six-time NBA champions Chicago Bulls and three-time NBA champions Detroit Pistons live from the French capital, will be available to audiences on BBC Three and iPlayer.

Across the remainder of the 2022-23 season, the BBC will also bring viewers four regular season games, two Playoff games, one Conference Finals game and one NBA Finals game, together with select highlights, and an end of season review show.

The NBA is the world’s premier professional basketball league, featuring a total of 120 international players from 41 countries as of the beginning of the current season in October 2022. Notable global talent includes London-born OG Anunoby (Toronto Raptors) and Jeremy Sochan (San Antonio Spurs) who grew-up playing basketball in the UK.

The NBA joins a BBC Sport rights portfolio which also includes the Olympic Games, The FA Cup, Women’s Super League, Wimbledon Championships, the Six Nations and Match of The Day.
