Brigad, the platform which connects hospitality and healthcare businesses with qualified self-employed professionals, has launched in Manchester.

The app was founded in 2016 and operates in France and the UK, launching in London in 2018. It has opened in Manchester in response to the current hospitality staffing crisis – with statistics showing that the industry has more than 3,000 open vacancies currently.

The company states that the city’s values match their own “perfectly,” explaining their reason for choosing Manchester as the first in a series of cities it will be expanding to.

Its goal is “to make work attractive and accessible to all,” and works across the hotel, restaurant, health and care sectors – letting businesses post vacant shifts to the app, for workers to accept those that suit their timetable, lifestyle, career plans and more.

Florent Malbranche, CEO and Co-Founder of Brigad, said: “Brigad is on a mission to make work attractive and accessible to all.

“We are excited to be expanding into the vibrant city of Manchester and confident we will enable thousands of hospitality workers change their professional life for the better.”
