Manchester-HQ’d Debenhams Group, formerly boohoo, has completed the sale of the Nasty Gal online fashion brand to White Space Group New York, LLC, operating as WSG Brands, for $16 million in cash.
The transaction also includes the global intellectual property rights for the on-trend, youth-focused Nasty Gal brand. The brand generated gross merchandise value of £12 million in fiscal year 2026 and adjusted EBITDA of £0.4 million.
Debenhams Group described Nasty Gal as non-core and not material to the company. The sale follows the recent £90 million disposal of the group’s Sheffield Distribution Centre, which was announced on September 10, 2026.

Dan Finley, group chief executive officer, said: “Our turnaround continues at pace. The disposal of this non-core asset aligns with our strategy and further strengthens the balance sheet following the £90m sale of our Sheffield Distribution Centre.”
The company said the transaction aligns with its strategy of transitioning to a marketplace-led business model.
Debenhams Group operates as an online platform for fashion, home and beauty products, serving customers across five shopping destinations: Debenhams, Karen Millen, boohoo, MAN and PLT.
The sale may have helped Debenhams’ balance sheet to the tune of $16m, but investors appeared unmoved by the sale. Debenhams shares were down by 3.64% this afternoon at 23.8p.
