Digital agency Pixel Kicks has completed a pro bono website redesign for the Hideaway Youth Project, a long-established community charity supporting young people in Moss Side.
The initiative forms part of the Manchester-based agency’s commitment to giving back to the communities it has worked within since launching more than a decade ago.
Based in Moss Side and operating for more than 60 years, Hideaway Youth Project supports young women and men across the area, providing a safe environment where young people can build confidence, develop skills and reach their potential.
Before partnering with Pixel Kicks, the organisation’s online presence no longer reflected the scale of its work. Its website, built more than a decade ago, had become increasingly difficult to maintain and was no longer effectively showcasing the charity’s programmes, history or day-to-day activities.
Recognising the importance of a strong digital presence for community organisations, Pixel Kicks offered to redesign and redevelop the website on a pro bono basis.
The new platform now highlights the charity’s work with young people across Manchester, shares imagery and stories from the centre, and makes it easier for parents, volunteers, donors and local partners to connect with the organisation.
As part of the project, the agency also ensured the charity’s team can manage and update the website themselves, giving them the tools needed to keep their content current and continue promoting their work online.
Sherelle Armstrong of Hideaway Youth Project said: “We had an amazing experience working with Pixel Kicks on our new website. Jamie, Chris and the team were brilliant to work with. Communication was great throughout and we always felt supported and listened to.
“What really stood out was how much interest they took in our charity and the work we do. They took the time to understand our audience and our values, which created a website that truly reflects who we are. We’re so pleased with the final result.”
Jamie Bray, project manager at Pixel Kicks, added: “As a Manchester-based agency we’ve always believed it’s important to support the communities around us. When we learned more about the work Hideaway Youth Project has been doing for young people in Moss Side, we saw an opportunity to help a brilliant organisation that genuinely makes a difference.
“The new site gives them a platform to showcase their programmes, connect with more families and supporters, and ultimately help them reach more young people across the city.”
The new website is expected to support Hideaway Youth Project’s efforts to attract new participants, volunteers, donors and partnerships with local businesses, while giving the charity a central hub to showcase the impact of its work.
