Liverpool child star makes Amazon Prime movie debut alongside Bill Nighy and David Oyelowo

The parents of a Liverpool child actor have been speaking of their pride in their talented offspring as her Amazon Prime debut alongside Bill Nighy and David Oyelowo dropped at the weekend.

Lucia Aliu, just eight-years-old, is represented by MediaCity UK-based talent agency, Scream Management, a pupil at Great Meols Primary, and currently training at Stagecoach Wirral.

She is starring as Caroline Brackett the daughter of Emma (played by Kaley Cuoco) and Dave (Oyelowo) in Role Play, which follows the marriage and secret life of Emma Brackett, an assassin for hire.

Emma’s husband discovers her secret when the couple decide to spice up their marriage.

Lucia auditioned for Scream Management in 2021, at the age of five, making her screen debut as Maisy Wheatley, daughter of Nicky Wheatley (played by Kimberly Hart-Simpson) in Coronation Street in 2022. She worked closely with soap regular Daniel Osbourn (played by Rob Mallard) during the “grief of Sinead” storyline.

Lucia has since featured in commercials including Duracell and Specsavers and high-profile TV shows including Apple TV’s Idris Elba-starrer Hijack Hijack, which she filmed concurrently with Role Play.

Lucia’s parents Victoria and David said: “We are incredibly proud of Lucia and her astounding achievements to date. It comes as no surprise that Lucia is driving her dreams forward, she’s determined, resilient with an infectious passion for film. We are so excited for what the future brings on screen. A career in TV and film was never in doubt.

“We are so thankful for the wonderful team at Scream who have been Lucia’s sole and only agent since joining. Our shining star navigating her way through these amazing adventures with a smile and cheekiest of laughs.”

Jessica Bell, senior talent agent from Scream Management added: “We are all so proud of Lucia and her achievements so far. She has such a bright future and we are so proud to support her and aid her in her journey.”
