The latest industry figures showing the circulation figures for regional newspapers in the north make for grim reading – not one was able to post a year-on-year increase in print circulation.
The figures, which cover the second half of 2014 were released today via the industry body the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC).
They show many of the household names suffered double digit falls in circulation and once proud and powerful mainstream titles have diminished to be a fraction of the size they once boasted.
The best-performing of them was the Lancashire Telegraph in Blackburn with its 3.5pc decrease. Last August we reported how the title had suffered one of the biggest drops in circulation in the UK with a drop 28.4%.
