AO, the Bolton-HQ’d electricals etailer and AO Arena sponsor, has launched its own mobile network, AO Mobile.
The launch marks AO’s expansion into connectivity and builds on its established position as a mobile phone retailer, as the company promises to give customers amazing value in a category they use every day.
AO Mobile launches with a single SIM-only plan called Ultimate 500GB. The 30-day rolling plan is priced at £12 a month for AO members and £18 a month for non-members.
Customers can add up to nine additional SIMs under the same account, making the service suitable for individuals and families alike.

AO Mobile’s Ultimate 500GB plan includes:
- Unlimited UK calls and texts
- 500GB monthly data allowance
- Inclusive 15GB EU roaming allowance
- 30-day rolling contract
- 99% UK population coverage with access to fast and reliable 5G
AO Mobile operates as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) providing nationwide coverage and connectivity alongside the brand’s trusted customer service and retail expertise. It will support both physical SIMs and eSIM functionality from launch, enabling faster onboarding and greater flexibility for customers.
While many mobile providers have focused on offering unlimited data, AO Mobile has been designed for typical customer usage patterns, combining high data allowances with a straightforward pricing structure underpinned by a reliable network.
AO’s founder and CEO, John Roberts, said: “We’ve been disrupting the status quo since 2000 to make things better, simpler, and cheaper for customers. We want to remove complexity and keep mobile simple so that it’s easy for customers to understand. Our pricing is transparent, our contracts are flexible, and our prices are fixed.
“AO Mobile simplifies everything with just one tariff. AO members get 500GB for only £12 including 15GB of EU Roaming every month. No gimmicks, no price rises in the first 12 months, no surprises and a rolling 30-day contract.
He added: “We don’t need to tie you in because you’ll never want to leave. It is simply amazing value, which is why AO is the most trusted electrical retailer.”
AO is listed on the London Stock Exchange as AO World Plc and has around 3000 employees.
