Entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies has revealed just what has left her feeling so ‘knackered’ as she balances the rescue of her business Crafter’s Companion with new investments on the hit BBC One show and a newfound Saturday ritual that’s helping her stay energised.
The North East entrepreneur, who founded Crafter’s Companion two decades ago while still a student, recently managed to pull the company back from the brink, saving it from administration. Just two weeks after the successful rescue, Davies admitted that the past few weeks have been some of the most exhausting of her career, but also the most exhilarating.

“What a couple of weeks I’ve had,” she said, in a LinkedIn post. “I mean, I thought I kind of knew what I was letting myself in for but, my word, nothing could have prepared me for this.
“It’s been the busiest, most knackering time of my life but also the most exciting I’ve had in my 20 years in business.”
Despite the challenges, Davies remains optimistic about the year ahead. “It’s been an incredibly exciting start to the year, and I’ve got a feeling that 2025 is going to be a good one,” she posted.

In addition to her business rescue efforts, Sara’s presence on Dragons’ Den has also kept her busy. Last week, she invested £50,000 in Mystery Jersey King, a football shirt mystery box business, in exchange for 15% equity. She also made a £100,000 offer for 6% of tech firm Choppity, though that deal fell through.
While Davies is working hard to save jobs and help businesses thrive, she’s also taking time for self-care. On Sunday, she shared a LinkedIn post about her new Saturday ritual, which she says has left her feeling revitalised. “This morning I woke up BEFORE my alarm – first time in weeks,” she wrote. “I’ve been properly on the hamster wheel just getting through from one day to the next, but yesterday was my first proper full day off.”
Sara’s Saturday routine includes a morning run, catching up with a friend over coffee, and taking time to recharge with healthier eating and an early night.
“I’m going to make best endeavours to make this my Saturday ritual now when I can – because I feel great for it,” she added.
Dragons’ Den returns on BBC One at 8pm on Thursday.
