Adil Ray has been signed up to present a new ITV game show, which is set to air this winter.
The Lingo format has been running in France and the Netherlands for almost 30 years and has had more than 500 episodes in the USA. It’s described as a quick-thinking game of words.
The 30 x 60 minute series is produced by Objective Media Group’s label Wildcard Television.
“I feel like I have just won the star prize on a game show! I am so excited to be working with ITV and Wildcard and to be hosting such a brilliant game,” said Ray.
The format sees 3 teams pitted against each other in a battle to find words.
“Adil has the perfect mix of words and comedy to bring the game to life, tease some strange answers and help us all find those missing words and letters. This series is sure to get people at home laughing as they shout at their TVs!” added Wildcard’s Ed de Burgh and Ben Shephard.
Lingo was commissioned by ITV Head of Entertainment Katie Rawcliffe and ITV Commissioning Editor Lara Akeju.
Wildcard Television will produce the show out of Objective Media Group North’s Manchester base.
