dock10 at MediaCityUK has outlined the safety measures it’s employing to enable major shows to return to its studios.

“We have remained open during this crisis providing an essential service as part of the national broadcast infrastructure, shows like Bitesize Daily have been designed and built in record time with hundreds of hours of content being made,” explained CEO, Mark Senior.

“With the return of football and other productions looking to get back to work, we have put in a wide range of safety measures to make it as safe as we can. We are following all of the government guidelines and making a number of changes to the building and the way people work.”

Some of the measures it’s brought in, include temperature checking scanners; and custom-made shields in production galleries. It will also have 2 metre distance markers, a one-way system and extra cleaning, hand sanitiser stations and additional office space.

“Over the last couple of weeks we have a lot of requests from productions to get back to work and the team have been putting in place a wide range of safety measures to make that possible for major entertainment shows,” added Andy Waters, Head of Studios.

“Many of our dock10 colleagues will continue to work from home to free up as much of the building as we can for production. Secure remote viewing will enable producers, commissioners and other creatives to view content at any stage of the production process. Over the next few months we expect to welcome back a range of productions from sports shows to quizzes and some fantastic new shows that are being made to bring some much needed entertainment to our screens. To help productions get back safely, we will be helping them with their risk assessments and sharing our plans online to help explain the safety measures.”
