Helen Skelton is Lost and Found in the Lakes

Helen Skelton is to lead a team of experts searching for precious items, lost by members of the public in the Lake District.

The new series from North Wales indie, Ty’r Ddraig (Banijay UK’s Workerbee Group label) will follow Skelton as she seeks to reunite people with important items, that they thought they’d lost forever.

The 15×30 minute series features divers, detectorists and magnet fishers as they search lake-beds and forest floors, plus a social media detective to track down their owners.

“It is amazing to be able to use the beautiful location of the Lakes as the backdrop for our series. We brought some very talented people on board, to help Helen clean up and restore the items found across the Lakes and surrounding areas,” said Zoe Thorman, Executive Producer at Ty’r Ddraig.

“I think viewers are in for a treat as the series combines beautiful scenery, wonderful craftsmanship, touching human stories, and the suspense of whether the much loved items will be found by the team or not.”

Alex McLeod, BBC Daytime Commissioning Editor added:

“Lost and Found in the Lakes is a great example of what makes daytime TV so appealing to viewers – feel-good content which features experts and regular people too. This new commission wraps all that together with the addition of a stunning British location – the Lake District – and a presenter with personal links to the area too.”

Lost and Found in the Lakes has been commissioned for BBC One Daytime and iPlayer by Rob Unsworth, Head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak Commissioning, the Commissioning Editor is Alex McLeod.

The Executive Producer is Zoe Thorman and the Creative Director is Ben Smith.

It’s due to air in 2024.
