Rick Edwards and Lloyd Griffith are returning to BBC’s Football Daily to present a visual podcast each week.
The duo first appeared on the series as part of the BBC’s World Cup coverage.
“The response to Football Daily during the World Cup was surprisingly positive given it was essentially just two goons chatting nonsense about the game we love (football, although table tennis also got a lot of mentions),” said Edwards.
“Sliding onto the regular Football Daily feed with two weekly episodes presumably means we’ll be asked to come up with more of a format but I plan to resist that quite robustly.”
The show will air on BBC Sounds, iPlayer and the BBC Football YouTube channel from 15th October.
In July, it was revealed that Edwards was leaving the BBC Radio 5 Live breakfast show.
The line-up for Football Daily now looks like this:
- Monday: Monday Night Club with Mark Chapman
- Tuesday: 5 Live Reaction to Midweek Football inc. Champions League
- Wednesday: 5 Live Reaction to Midweek Football inc. Champions League
- Thursday: Rick Edwards + Lloyd Griffith
- Friday: The Commentators View
- Saturday: The Football Interview
- Sunday: Rick Edwards + Lloyd Giffith
During FIFA World Cup 2026 the daily show generated more than 7.3m streams, including over 3.4m on BBC iPlayer and BBC Football YouTube.
“Football Daily already has a fantastic audience and we’re looking forward to bringing plenty of energy, debate and let’s be honest, nonsense, to football fans throughout the season,” added Lloyd Griffith.
