BrandXYZ, the purpose-driven marketing, PR, and communications micro-agency founded by former Bee Network head of brand and former Tangerine PR director Jo Taylor is celebrating its first birthday after launching in September 2024.
BrandXYZ was established around a “super agency” model, bringing together the right mix of specialists for clients, without the overheads of a traditional agency, and is designed to “support purpose-driven brands.”
12 months on, the agency has more than doubled its own projected turnover target, launched a new AI policy solution to market, and delivered work for a range of high-profile clients across sectors.
Key milestones in BrandXYZ’s first year include:
- Exceeding financial targets: Turnover doubled against its projections in the first year.
- High-profile client partnerships: Delivered projects for major organisations including West Yorkshire Combined Authority and The Growth Company, with three further brands soon to be announced, including a national facilities management leader.
- Product launch success: Partnering with law firm Glaisyers ETL to launch ComplyAI, a first-of-its-kind tailored AI policy product for creative and communications industries.
The agency claims that its flexible approach and focus on purpose-led growth “reflects a wider shift in how clients are choosing to work with agencies.” Clients are increasingly seeking high-impact expertise and specialist support without large, fixed-cost teams, which BrandXYZ’s collaborative model is able to deliver.
BrandXYZ founder and director Taylor said: “This year has proven that with a flexible model and the agility to adapt at pace, an agency can deliver meaningful impact well beyond its size. What matters most is putting purpose and expertise at the centre of everything. By building the right team around client challenges, we’ve been able to deliver transformational strategies, launch new products, and support big brands while always staying true to our values.
“Doubling our turnover target in year one shows that clients want this model, they want specialist-led delivery, and they want agencies who focus on impact, not just outputs. And by curating a flexible team of first-class freelancers, and agencies tailored individually to each client, we’ve been able to deliver that and more.”
Taylor has also been appointed as comms lead for the Women in Transport Northwest Hub during her agency’s first year in business.
“As we move into our second year, I’m excited about expanding our client portfolio, building our fast-growing roster of first-class freelancers and agencies and shaping new industry conversations around AI,” she said.
She added that BrandXYZ now enters its second year with new client wins in the pipeline and a continued commitment to supporting purpose-led brands doing good things for people, place and planet.
