Digital City Festival

From the latest emerging trends in tech and digital to agency masterclasses, there’s plenty of exciting fringe events taking place across Digital City Festival week.

Returning to Manchester from 15 to 19 April, Digital City Festival is the annual event series that unites the digital and tech sectors from across the North and beyond.

Aside from the key anchor events organised by the team at Prolific North, a number of businesses and individuals are hosting their own fringe events so you can immerse yourself in the world of tech, creativity, networking, and everything in between. 

Here’s the line-up of fringe events taking place during Digital City Festival so far. Please note, all events are ticketed separately. 

Triple your agency’s revenue – the agency founder masterclass

When: Tuesday 16 April, 10am – 12pm

Where: etc.venues Manchester, 11 Portland Street, Manchester M1 3HU, UK

Organised by 2Y3X, this is an interactive fringe event for ambitious leaders looking to grow their agencies.

You’ll master the art of tripling your agency’s revenue with Felix Velarde, Scale at Speed author and multiple agency founder turned acquirer. 

Learn the simple secret to getting fanatical team buy-in and get firsthand insights on scaling using the 2Y3X program, with former Deeson MD and TPXimpact COO, Simon Wakeman. You will leave with the key tools and frameworks from Scale at Speed that you can put to work the next day, and new-found motivation to get scaling!

Manchester Cybersecurity Meetup

When: Wednesday 17 April, 5.30pm to 8.30pm

Where: No.1 Circle Square, Symphony Park, Manchester, UK

Organised by GFT, this special fringe event marks the second cybersecurity meetup in the event series. Each meetup includes a keynote speaker and an ‘Interesting Thing’. The ‘Interesting Thing’ ranges from an innovative security update or project update from GFT or meetup members. 

At the event, expect to discuss all things security innovation and discover how security professionals are tackling day-to-day problems in the industry.

GFT’s chair for this event will be Simon Newton, who leads GFT’s security practice. He has over 20 years of experience in various areas of IT and business verticals, including advertising, financial services, IT consulting and management. 

Generative AI – An IP Toolkit for Creative Agencies

When: Thursday 18 April, 10am to 12pm

Where: Marks & Clerk, New York Street, Manchester, UK

Join Marks & Clerk for this Digital City Festival fringe event to delve into a number of legal pitfalls that agencies should avoid when creating content using AI, and the relevance of the AI Act to creative agencies. 

Webinar: Failing Forward – Delivering creative that wins in the real world

When: Thursday 18 April, 12.30pm to 1.30pm

Where: Online

Led by Hanna Wade, Client Partner; David Rubery, Head of UX; and Adrienne Chan, UX Strategist at Jaywing, this is a dedicated online event with a discussion on the importance of creative in driving business growth.
