Sheffield edtech platform Tutorful hires CEO

Tutorful CEO

Sheffield-based edtech company Tutorful has appointed a new CEO and reintroduced face-to-face lessons.

Andy Jones joins as CEO, who brings with him a wealth of experience in managing start-ups including taxi app mytaxi and Kennelpak.

Tutorful, which was founded in 2015 and matches users with tutors, now employs a team of over 60 people. During the lockdown, the company developed an online classroom to enable tutoring lessons to continue to take place remotely.

As restrictions from the pandemic have now eased, the company is continuing to offer tuition online, as well as reintroducing face-to-face lessons or those in a group class setting.

Last year, the company announced it was launching in Ireland and France.

Andy Jones said: “It’s a privilege to join Tutorful at such a pivotal time for the organisation. Whilst we’ve thoroughly enjoyed finding new ways to make online learning fun, including the introduction of our unique classes, we want to be the go-to platform for anyone who needs any kind of tuition in the UK.”
