Millie Killeen is a client services director at The Chameleon Agency, a Manchester-based full-service creative and events agency.

Here, she shares what she got up to during a recent week in her life…
Monday
My week usually starts early at home, juggling breakfast, bags and a three-year-old with very strong opinions about socks. Mornings with Luca are hectic but grounding, and once he’s off, I walk the dogs and mentally map out the week ahead – priorities, client needs and where I need to be most visible.
By mid-morning, I’m deep into senior team meetings at Chameleon, reviewing live accounts and commercial opportunities. Client services for me is about making sure brilliant work is delivered and that it’s commercially sustainable – margin, scope and long-term partnerships are always front of mind. The afternoon is spent shaping a new business pitch, refining the proposition before handing it over to the team to build out.
Tuesday
Today starts on the early train to London for a client meeting. I love these travel windows in theory – coffee in hand, inbox zero ambitions – although the reality is often battling unreliable WIFI while hotspotting off my phone somewhere near Milton Keynes.
The meeting itself is a great one: a performance review with a long-standing electronics client, followed by a conversation about growth opportunities for the year ahead. These sessions are rarely just about comms – they’re about understanding the client’s wider commercial challenges and where Chameleon can genuinely add value, whether that’s partnerships, campaigns or experiential work.
My role in the agency is to act as the internal voice of the client and ensure they’re happy and aligned with the work we’re doing and what’s coming up, so these face-to-face sessions are a crucial way of gathering honest feedback – as well as giving us an excuse for a more informal natter!
I head back north in the early evening, using the journey (and whatever WIFI I can get) to review proposals and send voice notes to the team before switching off with a podcast – usually something Man United themed.
Wednesday
Midweek is where things get more strategic. I spend the morning supporting the team on new business conversations, helping refine messaging and ensuring we’re pitching with confidence and clarity. We’ve had a record year at Chameleon, having picked up a broad mix of briefs across multiple sectors, and a big part of my role is making sure we keep that momentum while protecting the culture and quality that got us here.
In the afternoon, I jump on a call with a potential partner to explore a collaboration. Partnerships have always been a sweet spot for me – I love connecting brands in a way that feels authentic, commercially smart and mutually beneficial. After work, it’s back home for dog walks, dinner chaos and a slightly-too-late Netflix episode once Luca is asleep.
Thursday
I’m in the office in Manchester city centre today, which I really value. There’s something about the buzz of an agency environment that you just don’t get anywhere else. I start with team check-ins – not just on work, but on how everyone’s doing. Building a high-performing team means creating an environment where people feel supported, trusted and stretched in the right way.
Later, I met with our founder Joe, to talk through the pipeline, forecasting and where we see the biggest growth opportunities. These conversations are a mix of commercial detail and instinct, and they’re a big part of why I love agency life.
In the evening, if there’s an industry event or client dinner on, I’ll often attend. One of the perks of the job is being invited to new restaurant openings or menu launches, as we’re always on the lookout for great venues for our events. I always really enjoy socialising in these more informal settings – a lot of the best conversations (and future ideas) happen outside the meeting room.
Friday
Fridays are about tying everything together. I spend the morning wrapping up loose ends, reviewing the week’s wins and making sure clients are in a strong place heading into the weekend. I also plan ahead – nothing beats logging off on a Friday knowing Monday is already mapped out.
Once work is done, it’s straight back into mum mode. A walk with the dogs, dinner with Luca and a quiet night in is my ideal way to end the week. Agency life is fast-paced and demanding, but for me it’s all about balance – being ambitious, people-focused and commercial at work, and fully present at home.
And that’s a week at Chameleon! Varied, busy, people-driven and never boring.
