Cheshire-based online womenswear brand Sosandar grew sales by over 100% in the year to March 2020 and said it was “more excited than ever” about its future prospects.
Total sales rose by 103% to £9.03m, orders grew by 108% to almost 215,000 and the company’s active customer grew by 111% to 131,811.
However, pre-tax losses of £7.81m was up from last year’s £3.546m, which the company said reflected investment in its team, supply chain and marketing.
Ali Hall and Julie Lavington (pictured), the company’s joint CEOs, said: “We’re delighted to report another year of growth, and one in which we achieved a significant shift in terms of customer base and infrastructure, providing stronger foundations for continued future growth.
“The resilient performance achieved throughout Q1 has continued into Q2 of our current financial year. We remain cautiously optimistic about the coming months and more excited than ever about the longer-term prospects for Sosandar.”
Launched in Wilmslow in 2016 by Hall and Lavington – who had previously worked as editor and publishing director of Look magazine – the company was acquired for more than £6million by AIM-listed company Orogen in 2017.
