Donald Trump reframes Doncaster tiger attack to focus on himself in latest bizarre late-night AI video post

President Donald Trump has posted a bizarre AI-generated video of himself chasing and wrestling a tiger, during one of his frequent late night social media posting sprees on Truth Social, directly after he shared real-life footage of a fatal tiger attack on a man who entered the tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

Trump’s posts came despite the family of the victim, former child actor William Chapman from Buckinghamshire, urging people to stop sharing footage online and speaking of their “severe distress” at the “deeply offensive media content” being consumed.

Trump had earlier shared the original video of the fatal attack at the park, near Doncaster, with the text “Don’t ever mess with nature! President DJT.” The president followed this up with another post featuring a video compilation of animal attacks on people, though much of the footage appeared to be AI-generated. Trump appears to have made the afternoon posts during his trip to Alaska.

Trump is no fan of not being at the centre of the news cycle, and no stranger to reframing events to make them about himself in the rare moments he’s not the centre of attention. Among his more controversial narcissistic online moments, in April during a very public feud with Pope Leo XIV, the president shared an AI-generated image that appeared to depict him as Jesus Christ, while last year he shared a video that reduced the situation in Gaza to an AI real estate ad featuring himself and Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu sipping cocktails amidst a host of sparkling glass skyscrapers, including the ubiquitous Trump Gaza Tower, while an AI Elon Musk throws money at rejoicing locals.

Given the fierce competition, Trump’s frequent late night rants directed at Iran, Canada, Greenland, Denmark, Norway, the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, various Democrats, out-of-favour Republicans and even the UK and other former key US allies barely raise an eyebrow these days.

The latest online episode shows Trump being confronted by a tiger before chasing it, wrestling it to the ground and eventually hugging the animal, all while ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ inexplicably plays in the background.

Doncaster is famous for many things, such as its racecourse, Yungblud, and building the Flying Scotsman. It is not known for its lush jungle environs, while tigers are equally not known for being lions.
