Environmental development brief for Manchester agency

Green Earth Developments Group (GEDG) has appointed Manchester-based comms agency Rumpus to support its strategic communications, as the business looks to build its profile as a leading delivery partner for biodiversity net gain (BNG) and brownfield regeneration.

The two firms, both of which are certified B Corps, will work together to develop and deliver a targeted PR and thought leadership programme, helping to shape conversation around how complex brownfield and post-industrial land can be transformed into long-term environmental assets that support development, nature recovery and planning certainty.

GEDG works with developers, landowners and local authorities to remediate challenging sites and create nature-led, science-backed habitat banks that deliver measurable biodiversity uplift, underpinned by long-term stewardship and monitoring. The business is focused on demonstrating how high-quality BNG and nature restoration delivery can act as a critical facilitator of development, rather than a barrier.

Rumpus will support GEDG across media relations, thought leadership, content and stakeholder communications, with a focus on clearly articulating the practical, real-world benefits of BNG and brownfield regeneration for developers, planners, communities, and for nature.

Simon Towers, chairman of Green Earth Developments Group, said: “As demand grows for credible, practical solutions to Biodiversity Net Gain, it’s increasingly important that the conversation is grounded in real delivery experience. Rumpus understands both the built environment and the environmental agenda, and brings the strategic thinking we need to help communicate what we do, why it matters, and how it can support development while also giving back to nature.”

Paul Evans, director at Rumpus, added: “Green Earth Developments Group operates in a space where policy, planning, ecology and development intersect – and where clarity and credibility really matter. There is a strong story to tell around brownfield regeneration, nature-led habitat creation and long-term stewardship.

“The conversation around Biodiversity Net Gain has become more polarised than it needs to be. From our perspective, this is an opportunity for the UK to show real leadership in combining development with meaningful nature recovery. What attracted us to this brief is its purpose: helping shift the narrative towards what good delivery actually looks like, and working with journalists who want to explore solutions rather than just the challenges.”

The collaboration dovetails with Rumpus’ mission to grow its work with B Corp organisations and purpose-driven businesses navigating complex regulatory environments, while delivering long-term environmental and social impact.
