Chester Zoo takes over ITV with Meanwhile and Notorious

Chester Zoo has released its 2026 brand campaign, from North West agency, Meanwhile.

Directed by Daniel Liakh through Spindle, the campaign showcases the “micro, visceral moments” of people and animals experiencing and engaging with Chester Zoo.

“Our peak campaign this year is truly something special. As the national conservation zoo, our mission is not only to help wildlife survive, but to ensure it thrives, while also inspiring people with unforgettable and meaningful experiences,” explained Anna Baker Senior Brand and Marketing Manager at Chester Zoo.

“Capturing the full spirit of who we are in just 30 seconds is never easy, yet this creative powerfully reflects the awe, wonder and emotional connection that a day at Chester Zoo can spark.

“‘Where Life Comes to Life’ celebrates the magnificence of nature in all its forms, from animals, plants, the incredible habitats and the transformative moments our visitors take away with them. Every visit contributes to protecting species around the world, turning a day out into something genuinely impactful. We hope it encourages even more people to come and experience these remarkable animals firsthand, and to feel part of the vital conservation work their visit helps make possible.”

The TV campaign will launch alongside ITV continuity ads, with media planning and buying from Notorious, in conjunction with ITV. The continuity ad takeover will run exclusively on Granada and feature some of the zoo’s most popular animals.

Our powerful regional footprint and weather targeting capabilities provide a fantastic opportunity to inspire ITV viewers in the Granada region to visit Chester Zoo, come rain or shine,” said Jason Spencer, ITV’s Business Development Director.

The TV campaign debuts on Saturday and is supported by cinema, OOH, radio and social.
