Rapidly growing fried chicken brand reappoints PR agency ahead of huge nationwide expansion

Manchester brand communications agency Scoop has been re-appointed as lead new site opening (NSO) and regional PR partner for Popeyes UK, the UK’s fastest-growing quick service restaurant brand.

The re-appointment follows a successful 2025 retainer in which Scoop delivered over 40 new restaurant openings nationwide, contributing to Popeyes UK® hitting a milestone of 100 locations across the country, just four years after the brand first arrived in the UK in 2021.

In 2026, Scoop’s remit evolves. For the first time, the agency will run NSO delivery and regional brand comms as a single integrated campaign, moving beyond individual restaurant openings to build sustained brand presence across whole regions.

Greater Manchester is first on the opening front, with six confirmed new sites representing Popeyes UK’s largest single regional investment of 2026.

In 2025, the agency also delivered a Manchester-focused brand campaign in collaboration with local streetwear brand UN:IK Clothing, which saw limited-edition tees and Chicken Sandwiches snapped up in under 15 minutes at Popeyes Manchester Piccadilly.

In 2026, that thinking scales with ongoing media relations, influencer activity, events and local partnerships running alongside each restaurant opening, designed to drive footfall and build long-term brand love across the region.

Kara Doyle, client services director at Scoop said: “Popeyes is one of those brands that people genuinely love, and after three years and 53 openings together, we feel a real sense of ownership over how that story is told in the UK. To now be leading their biggest regional investment to date is something the whole team is incredibly proud of – and Manchester, our home, is the perfect place to start.”

Vicky Barber, marketing director at Popeyes UK, added: “Manchester has an energy and cultural identity that aligns perfectly with Popeyes. As we embark on our biggest regional investment to date, we’re excited to continue our long-term partnership with Scoop. The team have been instrumental in shaping our UK restaurant opening strategy and remain a fantastic partner in driving awareness and momentum as we grow.”
