Manchester PR consultancy outlines wider ambitions as it announces rebrand and client wins

Manchester PR consultancy People of Prominence has rebranded as The Prominence Collective, signalling a shift from its original focus on personal profiling towards broader organisational communications work.

The business, founded in 2024 by Edwin Buckley, says the name change reflects how its offer has evolved over the past year, with more emphasis on positioning, messaging and long-term reputation for businesses and non-profits.

The consultancy works across sectors including health, charity, education, lifestyle, travel, construction and tech, providing media relations, digital PR, stakeholder engagement and brand development.

Alongside the rebrand, the firm has secured a number of new clients, including Harrogate-based fertility and wellness clinic Cocoon, founded by Sam Naughton, and ADHD coaching and neuro-inclusion consultancy At The Millpond, founded by Isobel Lepist.

They join an existing client portfolio that includes Legasee Educational Trust, Chapter 2 Dating, Fourth Wall Building Consultancy, The Widowed Collective, Sober Rebel Society, All Aboard ADHD, SoberLove, Da Lat Corner and WidowsFire. The consultancy also provides PR support for a select group of individuals, including TikTok creators Matthew Haywood and Brett Harman, alongside Gogglebox star Daniel Lustig-Webb.

Buckley said the rebrand followed a natural broadening of the firm’s remit. “The way we work has evolved naturally over time,” he said. “We still prioritise strong storytelling and putting people at the centre of communications, but the work itself has grown alongside the organisations we support, with a much stronger focus on helping businesses and non-profits shape clear positioning and long-term reputation.

“Over the past year we’ve helped clients secure national exposure across broadcast, print and online media, while also shaping the wider communications around that, from digital campaigns to brand positioning and leadership visibility. Our focus is on building a clear identity and consistent narrative that creates momentum and supports long-term growth.

“For us, PR and communications is never just about a single headline or moment. It’s about creating clarity, consistency and trust over time, and working closely with founders and leadership teams to make sure their messaging reflects who they really are. The Prominence Collective felt like the right step because it better captures the breadth of that work and the collaborative way we approach it.”

The move comes as Manchester’s independent PR sector continues to see a mix of specialist boutiques and founder-led consultancies expanding their remit beyond media relations into broader strategic communications.
