Manchester brand and digital agency Ultimate has joined Club 10, Cure Leukaemia’s national business network supporting life-changing research for children with blood cancer.
The initiative is backed by charity patron Gary Lineker OBE, whose son George survived leukaemia as a baby following early treatment.
Club 10 brings together regional businesses to fund the ATICUS Paediatric Transplant Trials Network, a programme delivered across eleven leading children’s hospitals, including Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. The network gives young patients access to pioneering treatments that would otherwise be out of reach and requires £1m a year to operate, with local businesses playing a vital role in sustaining its work.
Cure Leukaemia chief executive James McLaughlin said: “Club 10 members are powering the push to bring us closer to a cure. Every business that joins today becomes part of this historic journey.”
Lineker became a patron after his son George was diagnosed with leukaemia as a baby. Since then, he has used his platform to support research efforts and encourage others to back the cause.
Ultimate founder Matt Townsend first partnered with Cure Leukaemia in 2021 when he cycled the full Tour de France route as part of the Tour 21 challenge, helping to raise more than £1m. More recently, the agency completed a full rebrand and website transformation for the charity, supporting its long-term ambitions.
As a Club 10 member, Ultimate has already surpassed its £10,000 fundraising commitment and is aiming to double that figure over the next year, contributing to Cure Leukaemia’s £100,000 target across Greater Manchester.
Earlier this month, the agency hosted a Christmas concert at its Campfield office, raising more than £600 and bringing together local businesses to support research for children being treated in Manchester.
Matt Townsend said: “We couldn’t be more proud to support Club 10. When leukaemia is cured, we’ll be able to say we were part of that fight. We hope we can inspire other Greater Manchester businesses to step up and get involved!”
Club 10 is continuing to grow across Manchester and the North West, with members including Booths and 20 Stories. Smaller companies are also encouraged to team up through a ‘Club Together’ option to reach a shared £10,000 annual target.
