The BBC is to launch the entire series of Waterloo Road on 6th January next year.
All 8 x 60 minute episodes of the school drama will drop on the iPlayer at 6am, with a double bill then airing every Tuesday on BBC One.
As previously revealed, the new series will see the return of original cast member, Denise Welch, who reprises her role as Steph Haydock. She’s called in as a supply teacher as the school struggles with a teacher shortage.
The newly released images show that Karl Davies (Emmerdale) has joined Waterloo Road as Anthony Walters, the ex-husband of Nicky Walters (Kym Marsh).
Also joining the cast as new students are Freddy Smith as Freddie Hollister, Olivia Booth-Ford as Leoni Tennant, Myra-Sofia Iftikhar as Aisha Azzi, Sana Ali as Badr Azzi and Isha Kaur as Harleen Lamba.
Waterloo Road is set and made in Greater Manchester and produced by Rope Ladder Fiction and Wall to Wall North.
Lindsay Williams is the Series Producer. Waterloo Road is executive produced by Cameron Roach for Rope Ladder Fiction, Leanne Klein for Wall to Wall, and commissioned by Gaynor Holmes and Jo McClellan for the BBC.
It comes as the series moves to new premiere in Trafford Wharf, after Wall-to-Wall parent company, Warner Bros completed a deal on the former Missguided HQ. The 48,500sq ft space has been leased for an initial 5 years.
