MatchFit has appointed Kate Hutchinson as a senior account director in its growing Manchester office.
Hutchinson joins MatchFit from Leeds consumer PR agency Hatch, and becomes the latest addition to the Manchester office, which launched earlier this year and is headed up by Cherrelle Jefferson.
Hutchinson has in recent years played a critical role across several sport and lifestyle clients such as UEFA Euro 2024 sponsor Hisense, various UK Sport social impact and recruitment projects, as well as hotel launches including Radisson RED London Twickenham. Reporting into Jefferson she will help to continue driving agency culture and client growth within the North of England, with a focus on campaigns which create a demonstrative business impact for MatchFit clients.
Since launch MatchFit’s dedicated Northern division has led campaigns for the likes of long-term client Manchester City and the Rugby Football League – driving attendances for the recent Ashes series between England and Australia. The agency has also driven celebrity and influencer engagement for Sheffield City Council around the World Snooker Championships, as well as launching the new Fanatics pop-up consumer store in Manchester’s Arndale Centre.
The expansion of the team in the North of England is the latest evolution in MatchFit’s vision to establish itself as the UK’s leading specialist sports communications agency. Headquartered in Shoreditch, London, since its launch in 2020, MatchFit has helped some of the world’s most recognised rightsholders and brands speak the language of sport across fan, consumer, grassroots and business audiences.
Hutchinson said: “Roles like this don’t come along very often – ones which give you an opportunity to shape the future of an agency. MatchFit’s client roster speaks for itself and having the opportunity to play a role in the growth of the agency’s northern offering and drive this forward is an exciting prospect. Working alongside the amazing team, I’m excited to get stuck in and be an integral part of MatchFit’s aspirations for the Northern division.”
MatchFit North director Jefferson added: “I’m thrilled to welcome Kate to MatchFit as we continue to strengthen our agency offering across the North of England. During a highly competitive recruitment process, she immediately stood out as someone driven, passionate, and committed to delivering exceptional work – all qualities we value in every member of our team.
“Following a brilliant first nine months for our new MatchFit division in Manchester, I’m excited for Kate to join us and to see her talent thrive as part of an agency helping world-class clients speak the language of sport.”
MatchFit’s services span PR, influencer marketing and content creation, with clients including Topps, Fanatics, The FA, Manchester City, The LTA, EA Sports, LaLiga, TravisMathew and LiveScore. The agency’s vision and strategic direction is led by co-founders Donald Parish and Will Mitchell, and permanent headcount across both offices now stands at 18, with further recruitment underway.
